  • Driving from Murgabh to the Wakhan Valley, with Yamchun Ford the next overnight destination.

    Well, so was the plan. Decided to go straight to Khorog instead via the road to The Wakhan Valley.

    It was a long day on bad roads, but the team arrived and was all good.

  • Following the Pamir Highway up to the Kyzyl-Art pass, leaving Kyrgistan to enter Tajikistan. One of the highest border crossings in the world.

  • Driving from Osh to Sary-Tash on the first segment of the Pamir Highway. It’s the last day in Kyrgistan already. Time is flying. Sary-Tash is also the starting point for many mountaineers climbing up to the peak of the many 7,000 er mountains around the Kyrgistan -Tajikistan border.

  • Rest and service day in Osh. Change of tires, brake plates, oil and air filters after 10,000 km. Ready for the remaining 9,000 km.

  • On the way south to another lakeside resort in Kok-Bel.

  • Rest day in Bishkek

  • On the way to Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgistan, following the northern shores of the Issyk Kul lake.

  • On the way to Karakol along the Issyk Kul lake. Meeting Stoyko this evening as the fourth Rider for the remaining stretch to Garmisch over the next seven weeks. Exactly four weeks ago we started in Chiang Mai, 9,000 km behind.

  • Crossing the border to Kyrgistan, took 7 hours, seems to be normal, and arrived in Naryn the late afternoon.
