A welcome rest day in Samarkand to do the big laundry and giving the bikes a treat. The rugged mountain lined Pamir Highway are behind, the flat gravel desserts are ahead.

A day in Dushanbe

Last day on the Pamir Highway, on the way to Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan.

Another day on the Pamir Highway. On the broken road along the border to Afghanistan from Khorog to Doshtag.

Decided to take the direct route along the original Pamir Highway to Khorog yesterday and enjoy a rest day in Khorog after a long punishing drive on one of the most challenging roads yesterday.
